Go North on the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95). Follow the signs to the Lincoln Tunnel (pay toll). Upon exiting the tunnel, stay/bear left. This is Dyer Avenue. Turn right onto 42nd Street. Go to Third Avenue and make a left. Take Third Avenue uptown to East 87th Street and make a left. The Franklin is on the south side of East 87th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

By Private Car

New Jersey Turnpike (Lincoln Tunnel)

Go north on the New Jersey Turnpike I-95) and follow the signs to the Lincoln Tunnel (pay toll). Upon exiting the tunnel stay/bear left. This is Dyer Avenue. Take Dyer Avenue to 42nd Street and make a right. Take 42nd Street to Third Avenue and make a left. Take Third Avenue uptown to East 87th Street and make a left. The Franklin is on the south side of East 87th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

Triboro Bridge

Head northeast on the Triborough Bridge. Take the Downing Stadium/Randalls-Wards Island/Manhattan exit onto the Triborough Bridge (pay toll). Take the left ramp to Manhattan/FDR Drive South and continue on the FDR Drive to Exit #14/East 96th Street. Turn right onto East 96th Street to Second Avenue and turn left. Take Second Avenue to East 87th Street and turn right. The Franklin is on the south side of East 87th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

George Washington Bridge

Beginning at the George Washington Bridge on the Lower Level, continue on I-95 N to Exit #2/Harlem River Drive/FDR Drive/Manhattan. The Harlem River Drive will become the FDR Drive South. Continue on the FDR Drive to Exit #14/East 96th Street. Turn right onto East 96th Street to Second Avenue and turn left. Take Second Avenue to East 87th Street and make a right. The Franklin is on the south side of East 87th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

Midtown Tunnel

Head northwest on I-495 West/Queens-Midtown Tunnel (pay toll). Exit the tunnel in the direction of East 37th Street. Keep right at the fork and follow the signs for 38th-40th Streets/37th Street. Turn left at East 37th Street and make a right onto Third Avenue. Take Third Avenue uptown to East 87th Street and make a left. The Franklin Hotel is located on the south side of East 87th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues.

Long Island Expressway

Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE) West to the Van Wyck Expressway West towards the Whitestone Bridge. The Van Wyck will split. Take Exit #3 toward East 138th Street/Madison Avenue Bridge. Stay straight for Exterior Street which becomes Major William F. Deegan Boulevard. Turn right onto the Third Avenue Bridge and take the ramp toward Lexington Avenue/FDR Drive South. Merge onto the FDR Drive South and continue on the FDR Drive to Exit #14/East 96th Street. The closest subway station is located at East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue, literally around the corner from the hotel. The Nos. 4, 5 and 6 subway lines provide local and express service in directions heading north and south. Bus service is available on Fifth, Madison, Lexington, Third, Second and First Avenues. The closest crosstown service is available on East 86th Street.

East 79th, 86th and 97th Streets have direct access to Central Park West via transverse roads through Central Park. The FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt/East River) Drive, a major limited-service highway, has access points at East 65th, 73rd, 79th and 96th Streets.
